Feather NOTD

Image
I recently viewed a nail art tutorial that included feathers. I thought it was such a cute and unique idea that I just had to try it for myself. First of all, for this look, preparation is key. I began by selecting 10 feathers, one for each nail. I just used feathers that were available in the craft section of the Reject Shop.  The nail polish that I used as my base colour is Naturistics in Chrome Crazy, a bright metallic silver, just like liquid chrome.  Working with one nail at a time, whilst the nail polish was still wet, using a pair of tweezers,  I placed the feather on the nail. I held onto the quill end of the feather, making sure that the tip was placed at the base of the nail. The tweezers can then be used to gently press the feather down to ensure that it "glues" to the nail with the aid of the nail polish.  Once the nail polish was dry, I used scissors to trim the ends around my nails. I wasn't too particular with this step, because the edges can be file

Mission Accomplished- Mirenesse Skin Clone Foundation.

Image
I've been a fan of mineral powder foundation for years now. The only ones that I had used were loose indie mineral make up. Well, that was until I tried Mirenesse Skin Clone Foundation. Although not the most important aspect of a product, but I must point out just how gorgeous the packaging is. It is such a classy chrome compact with decent sized mirror. I just love the attention to detail that Mirenesse prides itself upon with their products. For instance, this compact not only looks good, but is super easy to open. A simple press of a button opens the lid to reveal the foundation, so no ruining manicures. Also, there is a plastic cover for the foundation which separates product from included sponge, which I think is a wonderful feature. The formula includes ingredients such as Zinc and Renovage, both known for their anti-ageing properties. Having an SPF of 15+ is a great benefit. I love a foundation that is good for the skin. My choice of application is with a kabuki brush

EOTD- Featuring Mon Ennui Hypnotastic

Image
I adore sparkle on my lids. However, sometimes a sparkly shadow can be a little over the top for day wear (not that it seems to stop me, lol!) I found that with Mon Ennui 's loose mineral shadow, Hypnotastic, I can create a neutral look, with a shimmery edge. Hypnotastic is a taupe with mint green shimmer. This is a way that I can have the best of both worlds :)

To Repurchase Or Not To Repurchase- Remergent Microcirculation Therapy

Image
On my search for a retinol cream, I read the rave reviews on the brand Remergent. I had not heard of this brand before, but a quick scroll through ebay I came across Remegent Microcirculation Therapy. Little did I know that this product was an eye cream, not the retinol cream that I thought that I was buying, the joys of shopping on ebay, when there is know information in the listing, lol.  When I read that the product could improve dark under eye circles, one of my biggest skin concerns, I realised that it wasn't such a bad purchase after all. Promising to help dark circles by encouraging circulation, this white cream comes in a 30 ml bottle. A pump dispenser enables delivery of product. Instructions say to use one pump. I found this amount to be way too much. I depressed the pump slightly for enough product to apply to both eyes.  Although I have read of those that suffer sensitivity with this eye product, I never experienced this. I did find that it took some time to soa

To Repurchase Or Not To Repurchase- Kosmea Rosewater Mist.

Image
I purchased Kosmea Rosewater Hydrating Mist in a package deal when I was buying one of my favourite anti ageing products, Rosehip oil. I like to get a freebie, but was not really expecting to use the mist very much. Well, I finished the bottle :) The Rosewater mist contains pure rose water to give your skin a quick hit of hydration.  This mist comes in a 50ml bottle with pump top spray which gives a good spray without being too much. This is such a fantastic replacement for drying alcohol based toners. It is also a great natural product that can set foundation with a simple pump. I could imagine just how refreshing this could be in the warmer months, as the mist can be used anytime, and the 50 ml size is small enough to be portable. Would I repurchase? I would buy Kosmea Hydrating Rosewater Mist again. It has so many uses, and my skin loves it! :)

NOTD using Femme Fatale

Image
A recent review of Femme Fatale nail polishes  meant that I just had to have a play, with the end result being a NOTD blog post :) After a base coat of Orly Bonder, I then applied 2 coats of Orly Liquid Vinyl. Whilst still wet, I added some dots of Amberjewel and Shadowsong randomly on the nail, beginning with Amberjewel, with Shadowsong closer to the tips (2 dots of each colour). Working quickly, I used a dotting tool to run across my nails, swirling through the polish. I finished with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat to even out the surface of my polish. What do you think of the end result? I think it's an easy way to create a  fun effect :)

To Repurchase Or Not To Repurchase- Daintree Whitening Concentrate

Image
Having a lot of pigmentation and uneven skintone, I am always on the look out for a whitening product that delivers. I have not really found anything that has wow-ed me, however, in saying that, I am not overly patient when it comes to sticking to one product. To be fair, finishing one product might not be enough to reveal just how good a brand is, because fading pigmentation is a slow process (sigh). I really like Australian brand, Daintree, and when I had the opportunity to try the White Silk Triple ActionWhitening Complex , I didn't knock it back.  The active ingredients Silk Protein, Licorice Extract and Bearberry have been added to the formulation to assist in evening out skintone, whilst providing hydration for the skin.  The whitening concentrate comes in a 50 ml tube. I found only a small amount of the lotion is needed for the face and neck. I did have to wait for it to absorb into my skin before applying sunscreen, which is a definite must with this brightening

To Repurchase Or Not To Repurchase- Avene Thermal Spring Water

Image
I'd heard so many raves reviews for Avene Thermal Spring Water Facial Spray that I put it on my ever growing list of products to try. It seemed a little pricey to indulge in a facial spray, especially if it turned out to be a simple water spray, so it wasn't a priority. Well, that was until the spray was available at Priceline as a 2 for 1 special, I just couldn't resist. The bottles come in 50ml, 150ml and 300 ml sizes. I purchased the 50 ml size, which lasted some time, using once a day. The facial spray contains many goodies such as, trace elements, silica, calcium, magnesium. Contents that you would expect in a good spring water. It is free from bacteria and preservatives. The product is gentle, so perfect for the most sensitive skin. I don't suffer from sensitive skin, but wanted the benefits by using as a toner. Not sure exactly how to use this Spring Water, I began by simply spraying on a cotton pad, then wiping over skin. After some consideration, I dec
