Thierry Mugler "Angel Innocent"

Image
Being a fan of Thierry Mugler's well known perfume "Angel" I wanted to try "Angel Innocent" to see how it compared. Description- " Oriental vanilla fragrance for women. Top notes are mandarin, orange and bergamot, middle notes are black currant, almond and red berries. Base notes are amber, white musk and praline. " When I first applied this perfume, it reminded me of men's aftershave, the kinds that are pine fresh in nature. I can't say that I am a fan of this stage, but it did evolve. It became sweeter with fruits, I get mostly black currant, with some citrus. The mix of creamy almond, amber and musk grounds the fragrance, becoming powdery, with a subtle oriental spice. I really like this stage, although it is very close to the skin.  I get pretty good wear out of this perfume. The fragrance is a softer "Angel", she's her little sister. I think that this perfume is different enough to justify a purchase if

BH Cosmetics Color Lock Matte Lipstick

Image
Buying a makeup product because it has pretty packaging? I'm guilty as charged. This reason had a lot to do with my purchase of BH Cosmetics Color Lock Long Lasting Matte Lipsticks. That is a tongue twister! Admittedly, I did do a quick google search of these lipsticks to check out reviews and swatches. A common practice for me as most of my purchases are online and are of products that are sight unseen. Taken from BH Cosmetics - " Lock in the color of your lipstick with this rich and creamy long-wearing lipstick. Bold pigments stay in place all day while Shea butter nourish the skin for soft and beautiful lips." Even the box looks purty! The silver filigree design on the casing reminds me a little of Kat Von D packaging. The lipstick lid is a clear plastic that gives that satisfying click as it is securely closed.  What makes these lipsticks different to any that I've tried, is that as they are twisted up, they click into place, too. I think this is a

RawSkinCeuticals RegenC Exfoliator

Image
Although I've always been a fan of chemical exfoliators rather than physical ones. Using a sample of the RegenC Exfoliator convinced me that I needed to try a full size. Taken from RawSkinCeuticals- " Natural exfoliators and vitamin C combined with saponified fatty acid rich oils including Argan, Borage, Grapeseed and Olive removes dead skin cells, bacteria and surface toxins leaving the skin feel clean, soft and smooth." Large, slim bottle. Handy pump top dispenser. Creamy consistency. I like to use this exfoliator in the shower, so having a pump top dispenser is mess free, and I don't have to worry about the bottle slipping out of my hands. What I noticed first when I pumped product into my palm, was the scent. Fresh citrus, I find it such a lovely invigorating smell. The exfoliator smooths easily across the skin. It only has a small amount of granules, so a good massage of the product still feels gentle on the skin. I massage for around 3

Come Play With Me- The Spooky Edition

Image
I couldn't let Halloween go by without creating a fitting theme for Come Play With Me. I chose to include a spooky face and also Halloween themed nails. It's been a while since I have gone crazy with makeup and had some fun doing it. I'll begin with the face. I wanted to try and create a ventriloquist doll look. I find them very creepy, so yay! Great for Halloween! I received the Stargazer pressed powder in an Ozsale order, I didn't buy it, but decided to keep it. White powder can be handy for Halloween, lol. I used this for my face base, it was terrible and patchy, so I added some LA Girl white eye primer and blended that out. My white base was far from even, it wasn't the most fun part of creating the look. My eyes were very easy. I used a light neutral shade for my lid, then deepened the crease with a dark brown, and just blended it out. I used NYX Jumbo liner in "Milk" to line a thick white lower water line. Some brow liner and mascara

Come Play With Me Link Up Party- The Spooky Edition

A huge thanks to Nerida from Space of Beauty for including her blog post in "A Few of My Favourite Things" link up, you can check out her post here . I would have been very lonely at my "party" without her, lol. Well I couldn't let October go by without having a little Halloween fun. Of course, I don't want to do this alone, so please join in "The Spooky Edition" beauty link up party. Share with me a face look, nail look, eye look, etc. It doesn't have to be over-the-top like mine, maybe you want to incorporate some Halloween colours into everyday makeup or nail looks. There's only a couple of rules to be a part of this beauty based link-up 1. Refer to my blog, leaving a link to the "Come Play With Me" link up. 2. Comment on other people's blogs. 3. Have fun! There's no right or wrong way of creating these posts, I just want to see your interpretation. If you have an idea for a future Come Play With Me theme

Halle Berry "Pure Orchid"

Image
Description- " Top notes are amalfi lemon, papaya and cactus, middle notes are star anise, orchid and blackberry, base notes are patchouli, tonka bean and sequoia." This perfume is sweet, tangy fruit. I detect the berries, but can only slightly detect the floral component. Upon drydown, it develops a creamy, earthiness that is rich, yet still sweet and fruity. The patchouli gives this fragrance more of an exotic feel .  Oh boy, I adore this stage, but it becomes very close to the skin. If it provided more sillage, I would definitely add a full size to my perfume collection. I'll try pouring the rest of the sample into an atomizer and have my fingers crossed that I'll get more longevity when sprayed on my clothes, because "Pure Orchid" is so me! I hope you are having a fab Sunday! :)

LA Girl Matte Pigment Gloss

Image
When buying some eyeshadows from MBA Cosmetics that I did not need, but had to have, I spotted the LA Girl Matte Pigment Glosses...that I did not need but also had to have. Taken from MBA Cosmetics - " The long wearing formula goes on as a high pigmented liquid and dries to a flat matte finish. Leaving lips coloured in gorgeous velvety perfection that lasts and lasts."  I decided to stop at 4 shades, just to give them a try. Timeless  Obsess Frisky Backstage- turned out patchy, because I made the rookie error of applying another coat before the first one had dried. I really like the sponge applicator. It is long and thin, making application easier and very precise. Something you need when wearing liquid lipsticks. Well, I know I can do with all the help I can get, lol. The formula is thick and cream like, but I didn't find it too thick and patchy to apply, with the exception
