Ponds Flawless White BB Cream

When I had discovered that Ponds had released 2 BB creams, my next trip to Priceline I headed straight to the Ponds display. Sadly, the product was only available in light, which was obviously not going to work with my skin tone.

It was only a matter of time before a medium option (Beige) was available. I was so happy to get my hands on a tube. My next problem was choosing which range, Flawless White or Age Miracle. Both were appropriate for my skin concerns, but what I hate most is pigmentation, so opted for Flawless White.

Containing Spf 15, this product claims to hide blemishes and repair damaged skin. Ingredients have been added to regulate genes that control melanin production and brighten the skin.

The screw top tube has a lid that is quite solid and is squared off, which allows you to store it standing up. This means that it doesn't take as much effort to squeeze product out because the cream will be at the opening side of the tube.

There is a nozzle under the lid. The small end makes for easy control of how much product is squeezed from the tube.

The BB is quite thick, similar to those of Eastern brands. It is easy to apply and doesn't feel like it is clogging the skin. It does have quite a strong yellow base, which I  normally can't wear, but the cream is wearable once blended out.

Would I repurchase? I don't think so. Not because I didn't like it, by any means. As is the case of most Western BB creams, I found it to be more like a tinted moisturiser, in terms of coverage, which was a surprise to me with the thicker consistency.

The flash in the photo seemed to reflect the BB cream, making my face look like I have more coverage than what I was actually provided.

After a couple of hours of wear, I do find the need for help with my oily T-zone, which is the case for most face products anyway.

I found the base to be quite yellow, which was fine on my skin tone, but I could see the colour being a problem for many users.

To be honest, Ponds Flawless BB Cream just didn't live up to my current fave BB cream, Garnier for Oily skin.

  1. So glad you reviewed this Indie - I've only just begun exploring BB creams, and with so many on the market, I need major help weeding out what's not worth the trouble or expense. I need at least a medium shade, and my oily T sure doesn't need any boosting, so thank you for eliminating one from my list! xxx

  2. My pleasure, Kat. Do try Garnier BB cream for oily/combo skin, my all time fave (so far!) xx
