L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation

Image
Being a makeup hoarder collector, it was actually a nice feeling to be buying a foundation because I needed it, not just wanted it. On my wishlist for quite some time was the much talked about L'Oreal Infallible Matte foundation. Yes, I know I'm late to the party, lol. Taken from Priceline - "Infallible Matte is an easy to spread, lightweight, liquid emulsion that is never dull and never cakey. Infallible Matte resists sweat, stress, heat and humidity with no shine and no mask effect." The foundation comes in a 35 ml plastic squeeze tube. A screw top lid covers a small hole dispenser. This product is a liquid foundation but is on the thicker side. It has a scent that I can only describe as that typical makeup smell, it's quite light so I don't really notice it to be honest. I have applied the foundation with a brush, sponge and my fingers. Each method works equally well. It is smooth and easy to apply and blend. I get a medium coverage

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lipsticks

Image
I have been a huge fan of ColourPop for some time now. Affordable products that in my opinion are worth more than the price tag. The only downside has been the cost of International shipping. Story of my online shopaholic life! Fortunately the last couple of months of 2016, ColourPop offered free shipping with minimum spend to us International customers. It was perfect timing for my end of year splurge. I only purchased lip products this time around, a mix of Ultra Metallics and Ultra Satins. This post I will be showing you the Ultra Satins. Taken from ColourPop - "A lightweight, comfortable, bold lipstick, with a Satin finish. This lipstick is extremely long wearing, although not completely kiss proof- you may leave some marks on your coffee cup!" Typical liquid lipstick tube packaging with a doe foot applicator. The lipstick has a mousse like consistency, quite different to the liquid consistency of the Ultra Mattes. The Ultra Satins feel very comfortable on

Project Pan 2017 Intro

Image
Instead of choosing a multitude of beauty items to finish in 2017, I decided that what would work best for me would be a rolling 5 pan. So how this works, is that I have 5 products in my project that I am attempting to finish. Once I finish a product I'll replace it with another and keep a tally of products used in this project for the year. Let me show you the first 5 products ColourPop Cornelius eye shadow is matte, so I've been able to get a lot of use of this shade by using in my crease. Makes a nice all over the lid colour, too. During 2016 I was doing a rolling 5 pan project on my Instagram ( @indie_ana1 ) and this Mirenesse lipstick was one that I had been trying to finish. It is never-ending  lol, but I am determined to finish it! W7 Catwalk Concealer is a product that I use on a daily basis to colour correct underneath my eye area.  This Smashbox Lip Pencil is a neutral colour, so I can get a lot of use out of it. It's a nice

W7 Catwalk Concealer

Image
W7 is a budget brand from the UK. I am always drawn to these types of brands because who doesn't love a good bargain? :) I feel that if I don't like the product I haven't paid too much to be concerned about binning it. Plus when a makeup product does work for me it's certainly a bonus that it is cheap to replace when needed! One of my Chemist Warehouse trips for prescription medication lead me to the W7 counter, I believe the only store in Australia that stocks this brand. I figured that for $4.99 for a concealer wasn't going to break the bank. Taken from the W7 website "With a creamy consistency and long lasting formula, this product can cover, camouflage and hide blemishes and redness." The concealer is packaged in a typical concealer tube. As you can see, it has a doe foot wand for application. This product is quite creamy in consistency. When I first applied the Catwalk concealer, I found it to be a little too yellow toned

Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate

Image
If I can buy I dupe for less than the original, I'm all over it. Budget UK brand Makeup Revolution is known for their Too Faced Chocolate Bar dupes with the I Heart Makeup eye shadow palettes. The original Chocolate Bar is a cult favourite and MR has duped it with the palette I <3 Chocolate. I love that melted chocolate bar packaging. A large factor in my wanting this palette. The following swatches were done with my finger on bare skin. I don't have the Too Faced palette to compare, but after seeing many swatches online, I believe the shades are very similar. Look 1 Look 2   Look 3 Above are 3 looks that I created with the palette. I found that the shimmer shades don't translate on the lid as well as when swatched. They're nice, but needed some building up to get good coverage. I found the mattes lovely to use. Usually with budget palettes like this one the shimmers are fantastic, b

Mor Marshmallow Perfume Oil

Image
I have heard many raves of the Mor Marshmallow fragrance in the past. It was something I had wanted to try, but it wasn't really on my radar to purchase. Well, that all changed when I was lucky enough to receive the perfume oil as one of my birthday gifts from my generous sister. Scent description taken from Mor - "Marshmallow is collectively orchestrated with vanilla musk and jasmine flower that gloriously rapture in this pretty, feminine fragrance. Sugar dipped rose petals with white carnation and cotton candy play beautifully to create a deliciously sweet perfume." Can I just begin by saying how much I love the packaging. The 9 ml roller bottle is encased in a pale pink cylinder with a gorgeous gold design. It is truly beautiful and elegant. The bottle has an intricate pink design on the glass background. Without previously reading the scent notes, I was surprised that upon application I could detect rose. As the name would suggest, I was expecting a swe

L'Oreal Revitalift Laser x 3 Dual Action Rejuvenation Moisturiser

Image
Thanks to beauty website Beauty Heaven , I was fortunate enough to be given the L'Oreal Laser x 3 Dual Action Rejuvenation Moisturiser to trial. Taken from Priceline - "The L'Oreal Laboratories have combined high concentrations of Vitamin C-G with Pro-Xylane in a dual moisturiser, formulated to work on and under the skin's surface to fight signs of aging."  I really appreciate the lovely red chrome-look and plastic packaging, a squared bottle that can sit proudly on my dresser. The moisturiser has a dual chamber, but the pump top dispenser combines both through the one nozzle. The top of the dispenser has a depressed curved section, perfect for the finger which when pressed pumps both serum so they can be applied together. One side stores the white moisturiser and the other side is a pinky colour, they are both of the same creamy consistency. Upon application I can detect the scent that is common to L'Oreal skincare. A nondescript floral fra

Chi Chi Sunkissed Palette

Image
Not too long ago I participated in what's known as Beautorium. This is an event held on beauty website  Beauty Heaven where you have the opportunity to swap earned points for beauty products. One of the products on offer was the Chi Chi palette Sunkissed. I've wanted to try a palette from this brand for some time, so was quick to add it to my cart. Sunkissed contains a range of warm and neutral colours, which I have been all about lately. Having shimmers and mattes make this a cohesive palette that can easily complete your eye look, whether every day or dramatic.  I swatched the shadows with my finger on bare skin. Some shades needed a few swipes to show up.                                         A couple of the shimmer shades I found a little crumbly. The golds in particular weren't very pigmented as you'll see in my first Look, the lid colour is quite sheer. It does make for a nice every day wearable look, though. The neutral and peachy shi

Nail Art 2017 #1

Image
I was inspired to create my mani after seeing a tutorial on Facebook. It looked fairly easy and I just loved the finished look. A dotticure, but not just any dotticure, the dots being multi-toned. I'll explain... Once I decided I wanted warm colours on my nails, I needed to begin with a dark base colour. For this I chose Sally Hansen Diamond Strength polish in Save the Date. For the dots I began with a combination of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polish in White On, Models Prefer Nail Color in Trendy and Ulta3 Nail Color in Honolulu. With the smaller end of my chosen dotting tool I slightly mixed the polishes so that the individual colours were still obvious. I then proceeded to place dots on my nails with the swirled polish using the larger end of the dotting tool. I definitely want to try some different colours using this technique!
